This delectable Banana Cream Pie is my hands-down favorite among the five Premium Cakes Tinapayan Bakeshop showcased during the past Holiday season. I particularly loved its toned down sweetness for a dessert that looks very indulgent and rich.
With a graham base and a delightful custard cream embracing the fresh bananas, it's finally topped off with cream and garnished with chocolate kisses and more bananas. But its the custard that had me in just my first spoonful - tamed sweetness and not overwhelmingly sweet that one will almost never get tired of.
The textures also come to play with the flavours - the "rough" and mildly sweet graham mixes gamely with smooth and tamed custard. The fresh bananas are caught in between - fruity sweet on its own but also complements both in texture and flavour plus aroma too.
I really hope all these five premium cakes will become part of Tinapayan's regular line-up (I know the Banoffee Pie and Pavlova are) and really more hopes for this Banana Cream Pie to be there on cake stands as well.
