Adobo nga Tabagak

There are times that craving for the real thing make us make the most of what's available and/or what we have. Just like this adobo nga tabagak  ( tuyo )which is to satisfy my cravings for binodo . While the latter is salt-bathed fish that are sold in markets, the  adobo nga tabagak almost mimics the aroma and taste. And it's almost available all the time. Making one is as easy as 1-2-3. First, fry the tabagak while preparing onions and garlic. Remove the fish then, unhealthy as it may seem,  saute the garlic and onions in the oil used to fry the fish. Add vinegar and some soy sauce and adjust flavour to suit your taste. Finally add the tuyo and simmer for a minute. Now you have a very appetizing and easy to prepare dish that would surely make your tastebuds yearn for more. Extra rice please!

Now Open: Streetside KTV in Smallville

In time for Dinagyang 2014, a new place where Ilonggos can hang-out and have fun has opened it's doors. Streetside KTV greets every visitor entering Smallville as it is conveniently located at the entrance beside Quix!Mart. A big sign also announces its opening to those plying the Iloilo Diversion Road. The blessing was held last Friday as we all took part in the ceremony and toured around the lounge that has around 10 rooms. The day started and ended with lots of food and singing as we tried for the first time the gastronomic as well as entertainment offerings of the KTV. The BIG Room that seats 10-15 pax was where we spent the night eating, singing and having fun. In some rooms, one can opt to play PS3 aside from the exercising heir vocal chords. They also have an updated playlist that made us go " Ring-ding-ding-ding-ding-dingeringeding " our hearts out! All these made us hungry and good thing we were served sumptuous food like this Sizzling Sp

Krispy Kreme and J.Co: Getting ready for Iloilo

So the doughnut wars is finally coming to Iloilo. After so many delays and speculations, here's the latest update I have about this gastronomic "fried dough" match. Latest buzz has it that Krispy Kreme , after so many delays, will finally open at SM City Iloilo in  NOV. 30, 2014  at the upper ground floor near the main entrance taking over the space to be vacated by Red Ribbon. Its a welcome news for me since I've been bring along more than 3 dozens of these doughnuts if ever I go to Manila or Cebu. Now I'm salivating over the thought of having some Original Glazed or New York Cheesecake Krispy Kreme Doughnuts soon. On the other hand  J.Co Donuts has announced it will open two branches in Iloilo City - SM City and Robinsons Place. This import from Indonesia has been the "it" pasalubong from Manila, as more and more orange boxes dominate the bitbit of plane passengers coming to Iloilo. Soon flavors like Al Capone, Avocado DiCaprio, Green
