Easy Century Tuna Recipes

If you're looking for simple, easy  and delicious Century Tuna recipes online, congratulations, you've found it right here! How about spicy tuna sisig or tuna sinigang ? Maybe stir fried tuna with pickles or just yang chow fried rice .  I love Century Tuna from its flakes in oil variety, the spicier the better, but when I discovered the versatility of its solid variant, it became an obsession. At first I was just into the usual tested recipes; pasta and sandwich filling, but then it got simpler – I just eat it straight from the can! Usually with a piece of bread or an apple. I just add a few drops of vinegar to spice it up a bit. Then came the experiments. Yup I got tired of that habit that one day, I decided to test my skills in the kitchen. Serendipity, you might call it yet most of them turned into good recipes that I have shared now and then. Satisfying my Palabok cravings had me experiment on this recipe on the spot. With Century Tuna in lieu of the us...

Century Tuna, Ampalaya and Pineapple Salad

My posts about my mix and match Century Tuna recipes are among my blog's most viewed entries. There, I share my experiments on how to make the canned tuna more special - though I also love having it straight from the can. I've had Century Tuna sisig , sisig-adobo , sinigang , fried rice, ala king and healthy adobo flakes , among others . But I haven't experimented for quite sometime now ...  Until this new recipe came right into my "doorstep". This isn't my recipe but I found this being served at home for quite sometime now. It's gonna be the first salad in my Century tuna recipe collection - Tuna flakes Ampalaya and Pineapple salad . The reci pe's quite simple - just mix tuna flakes, pineapple tidbits with some juice, white onions and thinly sliced ampalaya. It is recommended to use canned pineapples to be assured of the sweetness, but if fresh pineapples do come sweet, then its a go. The pineapple makes ...

Century Tuna Recipe: Kimchi Rice

Another simple Century Tuna recipe that will surely set your palates on fire and the best of it all, it's no cook! Inspired by my previous experiment , this one's actually faster to prepare and using tuna, it's a lot healthier. Using everybody's favorite Century Tuna Flakes in Vegetable Oil (Hot and Spicy) , I just mix chopped bottled kimchi with a can of tuna (including the oil - it's the one giving the kick) with rice with a squeeze of calamansi. For blog photo purposes, the bigger chunks of tuna plus shredded kimchi were used to garnish the solid concoction to give more visual appeal at the same time providing some bite to it. And the one on the plate is just half of what I prepared. Now definitely this ain't gonna be the time I will prepare this newly concluded experiment of mine, for it doesn't only look good, it really tastes good! Mashita! That's delicious in Korean, now I know !

Century Tuna recipe: Sisig

This Century Tuna sisig is actually another experiment that turned out quite good and eventually becoming a "recipe" for me. One day I got tired of the usual ginisang tuna recipe that I decided to add more seasonings. I experimented on soy sauce then eventually vinegar (being the only other seasoning at hand) for more flavour. I then decided to cook it dry but it became too dry that I decided to put more oil and toasted it a little more. It became an instant hit even though I did nothing special but throw in the available seasonings that time. Thus my Century Tuna Sisig was born. I decided to experiment more by adding more onions plus chopped chilis before taking it away from the fire thus making it more sisig tasting and looking. It's a " Quickfire" dish for it can be done in 10 minutes or so. No fancy ingredients nor cooking techniques, just knowing your palate. First, let the tuna "boil until dry" in vinegar (or water with sinigang mix), soy s...

Century Tuna recipe: Sinigang

One of my simplest and most loved Century Tuna recipes , the canned tuna sinigang actually resulted from my experiments before. Tired of eating plain canned tuna, I decided to steam it with vegetables and season a bit. It was kangkong leaves that time and even though the kangkong added a new dimension and texture to my usual tuna meals, it still was plainly boring. I ran out of seasoning, one time, that I decided to try using sinigang powder. It resulted to my first recipe that even my coworkers loved - it is not a home made recipe but an office made one (lol). Right then it was always a tuna sinigang when things get boring. Sometimes, just a simple with green leafy vegetables or at time, made it more look like a s inigang complete with radish, string beans and eggplant on top of kangkong leaves. This one is a moderately simple one with just kangkong leaves and string beans with sili as garnish. But this is the more visually appealing and appetizing one to date. Not only loo...
