Pancit sotanghon

Whether made into a pancit style (dry) or into a soupy dish, sotanghon will always be "tops" for me. The versatility of this glass like noodles plus its "strength" compared to others makes it easier to prepare more than the usual noodle dish. But this is just the usual sotanghon recipe of mixed vegetables and chicken but what makes this special is, of course, the brand, Marca Pato . It's a local brand, made in Iloilo City, but it's way better than even those imported ones and it is more expensive despite being produced locally. It has been proven and tasted here at home that when we will prepare any sotanghon dish, it's alway Marca Pato or none at all.

Marca Pato sotanghon

This is the best sotanghon brand I've tried, be used into noodle dish or a soup. Just one piece of advice when using this brand, have plenty of water for it tends to absorb it like a sponge. Even if making a noodle dish, you must submerge it to have a very soft noodle when "dried". If you are making a soup then better be ready with a tank of water. Just kidding. Just be sure you buy Marca PATO since there's also a Marca PABO brand with almost the same packaging. Update I had a hard time containing my laughter in the grocery today. I casually passed by the sotanghon section and amused myself looking at Marca PATO and Marca PABO brands. Then I was really surprised to see a Marca MANOK brand. No kidding!
