The gastronomic grandeur of Jaro Fiesta 2013

The district Jaro, Iloilo celebrates biggest fiesta in the region characterized by the pageantry and the grandeur of the occasion paying homage to Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria , the patron saint of Western Visayas. Every February 2, all roads lead to Jaro as Ilonggos celebrate the feast of O ur Lady of Candles in different aspects - religious, gastronomic, enterprising, and more. (For) As early as December the Jaro Plaza is teeming with the Jaro Grand Carnival with activities like carnival games, food stalls, fruit stands and ukay-ukay, among others. It culminates on fiesta day with the coronation of the Fiesta Queen, chosen among the lasses of Jaro families. Erning's Lechon and Seafood restaurant along Villa beach

Native restaurants abound along the stretch of Villa beach in Iloilo City. Aside from the seafood galore one might expect, this part of the city is also known as the lecho n capital of Iloilo. The best way to see, taste and feel the gastronomic delight of the area is on a Sunday morning as rows and rows of stalls and restaurants display and sell their lechon , whether baboy or manok. as they all get ready to satisfy every craving. Just enjoy this feast for the eyes from Erning's! Erning's famous lechon baboy Erning's Manukan and Seafoods is one such restaurant along this strip. Only outshone by the (more) popular Tatoy's and Breakthrough, Erning's is considered to be the quiet "third" in the gastronomic competition of the area. I haven't been to Erning's but usually it is where we order our lechon baboy to be served during special occasions at home. Hopefully I could troop over there one day.
