FLAVOURS OF ILOILO

Ugoytap was first mentioned as part of my blog entry for ugoy-ugoy . Luckily, I found a pack today in the pantry and decided that it should have a post of its own. Obviously named after combinig ugoy-ugoy and otap , ugoytap looks and tastes more likely the former. In my opinion, has no likeness to otap since it's totally ugoy-ugoy cut into bite size pieces. Despite this, it still makes a good and addicting snack especially with coffee, as what Inday Hami suggests in her Ugoytap post in iLOVEiloilo .

I dont know how this was called as such but Ugoy-ugoy has been around since and its one of those biscuits that almost all bakeshops have their own version, as I always like to put it. It just a simple layered, flaky biscuit with granulated sugar as topping. Here's another variation, Ugoytap, obviously named after ugoy-ugoy and otap. It's just the size and shape but its still more an ugoy-ugoy than an otap.
