It’s the first buffet I’ve been to at Days Hotel Iloilo and certainly it had made its mark. Meshi is the long standing themed dinner buffet at The Promenade and is undoubtedly the most popular. So popular that from just being on Wednesday nights for the past 4 years, it now has taken over the Friday slot.
So what to expect during Meshi? Of course, a lot of sushi and sashimi. Last Friday, I counted six variants of sushis all vying for my attention.
The most recognizable was the California maki with its signature fish roe dotted sides.
Then there’s those sashimi and crabstick topped ones as well as egg rolls on top.
A crabstick filled and dried seaweed(?) rolled was added to my repertoire.
And I just brushed aside a plain looking one – with some sesame seeds on top.
But it turned out to be my favorite as is had an apple center that breathes in a different kind of freshness to the lot.
The sashimi station also was screaming of freshness as well that guests will just give in to the temptation of this Japanese delicacy.
This is just a sampler as my next blog posts with have more Japanese specialties of Meshi, the Japanese Buffet at The Promenade of Days Hotel Iloilo.
Meshi happens every Wednesday and Friday from 6-10pm. PhP 460++. For reservations, please call +63 033 337-3297 or 336-8801 to 10.
