Located near the Y-junction in Dulonan, Arevalo (just outside Winner's Gym) is a typical carinderia serving a not so typical menu. Welcome to Bhai Shaab's Punjabi Fastfood, where the mix of cuisines from India and Nepal are the staples. With a simple menu with transations of what you' eat, it's one gastronomic adventure
I've been frequenting the past few weeks.
As always, it won't be a complete Punjabi food experience without their signature Tandoori Chicken. It's chicken cooked in a clay pot over that is leeking with the tradtional Indian spices. It may look spicy but it's really that spicy.
A side order of peas and brocolli "soup" tames the spices at the same time creating a contrasting flavour and texture that makes a complementing rhythm in the mouth.I definitely would suggest Jerra rice - a mix of Basmati rice with cumin seeds. the rice is very different from what we usually take and the seeds makes an aromatic as well as give flavour that you'll ask for more.
For drinks, Iam torn between Lass with Rosewater - it's just plain yoghurt flavoured with rosewater which is a very refreshing drink. But the Masala Tea is also a good buy as it makes light yet flavourful drink. But if given the chance, I'll just order them both!
It certainly wont be my last visit to Bhai Shaab's Punjabi Fastfood and even thought I might be ordering the same food and drinks again, it will always be another delicious foo trip. As usual...
