Brunch last Sunday was exactly how it was exactly four Sundays ago. Same orders, same time and same place. Bistek tagalog, beef caldereta and pork adobo around 11am at Green Mango Restaurant along Valeria Street.
Though my previous entry was with no visuals and mostly rants about their pancit palabok and halo-halo, I didn't bother giving these two a second chance that time because they don't deserve any. But these combo meals deserve more than a second chance .....
Bistek tagalog. My favorite order! I just love the timpla of their sauce which may just be ordinary to some. Sour and "gelatiney" due to cornstarch, I just love the "tang" thecalamansi juice gives my taste buds.
Beef Caldereta. A close second. Though it uses the generic beef used in the bistek order, I just love the taste of rich thick "livery" sauce. Vegetables are just added as garnish and not cooked in the sauce.
Pork adobo. Pork cutlets cooked the was I like my adobo; soury-sweet and oily. Though this wasn't part of my order that time, I had to ask across the table for a taste test.
It was indeed satisfying visit after my disastrous previous snacking days ago. Plus the fact that an additional PhP10 would get me bottomless drinks with these combo meals, it's surely worth another visit soon.
