Have you tried the insanely delicious buko shake from a Buko Ilonggo stall? You probably have since I just discovered it lately, maybe months after the whole of Iloilo City have discovered it. Just one sip of their signature buko shake, brought back the memories of home made buko juices and shake concoctions we make. Milky and sweet with enough buko juice and meat to give it the real taste of coconut.
I usually, I mean ALWAYS, order a one liter bottle that costs PhP65. I used to think it was too expensive for a stall drink but now it’s a steal – 1 liter of awesome buko shake goodness. My order almost fills up the entire blender pitcher a it is filled with fresh buko strips, 4 scoops of evaporated milk and another 4 scoops of sugar syrup. These three are first blended well until almost smooth then crushed ice is added and blended some more. This gives the shake a much smoother texture and a more combined flavor. Now that's a buko shake!
