Heart.Stopper: Coffeebreak's version of Bulletproof Coffee

I just had the first cup of Coffeebreak's Heart Stopper coffee and I am still feeling the effects now even after six hours! A special treat for the Valentine weekend, Iloilo City's homegrown coffee shop will serve its own version of the popular Bulletproof Coffee and only available on Feb. 14 and 15. (EXTENDED until further notice in select outlets)

So what is a Bulletproof Coffee? Basically its black coffee served with butter. It is defined in Wikipedia as Bulletproof Coffee is a drink consisting of black coffee blended with butter and medium-chain triglyceride oil. The term was coined by Dave Asprey and first posted to his blog in 2009. Asprey claims that the drink boosts cognitive performance and weight loss, and it is consumed by entrepreneurs and athletes. I was expecting to see shavings of butter melting in my cup of coffee but good thing it was already blended in the coffee thus the coffee gleams in its golden hue. I also didn't bother putting sugar as it will just confuse my tastebuds of what a bullet proof coffee should taste like. But then...

... knowing that its also a weight loss coffee, as defined, I couldn't say no to the temptation of Devil's Fantasy (below) and Better Than Sex cakes. It now comes in slices rather than the single-serve it used to be - very convenient for those who wants to have whole and bigger version of these cakes.

Ultimate Ilonggo Favorite: KBL Kadyos, Baboy, Langka

K.B.L. or Kadyos, Baboy, Langka is the ultimate favorite dish of most Ilonggos. It is also one of the most missed native dishes as kadyos and the souring ingredient, batwan , are hard to find when outside of the Ilonggo region. Basically, it is boiled/stewed pork dish owing its "deliciousness" to the combination of the soft and tender pork, the tamed sourness of batwan and the malinamnam na sabaw . One of the "secrets" of the malinamnamn na sabaw , is the fact that the pork, whether just the plain meat or pata (hocks) are first grilled or broiled. The gabi (taro) is just one of those plants which is edible from "roots to tops". The most popular of which is the tuber part which is used in a variety of dishes and mostly in combination with coconut milk.
