Celebrating its 2nd Thanksgiving in the City of Love, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo made the last Thursday of November a gastronomic day to remember.  The Runway Kitchen was abuzz with guests, both locals and tourists alike, enjoying the delectable offerings the the hotel has to offer. The foodie festivity also coincided with Courtyard Iloilo'a annual Christmas Tree lighting ceremony. Dairy Queen is finally back in Iloilo! It was decades ago when this dessert royalty captured the Ilonggos' hearts but it eventually just disappeared . Fast forward two  decades later, DQ is back in Iloilo with bang as it opens its first "comeback" branch at SM City Iloilo!  This branch is dessert cafe where DQ lovers can sit and linger contemplating for another order, perhaps?  A second branch located at Robinsons Place Iloilo is set to open by December 2019 DQ BLIZZARD A popular Dairy Queen item is the Blizzard, which is soft-serve mechanically blended sundae with mix-in ingredients such as chocolates, cookies, brownies, fruits and more Blizzards derive their name from being so thoroughly cold that they can be held upside-down without any spillage. BORACAY. White sand beaches, crystal clear waters, fun-filled activities under the sun, superb nightlife and of course-lots and lots of food! And we had to look no further than Brick & Basil, the in-house restaurant of our host hotel for the weekend getaway.  Ferra Hotel and Garden Suites Boracay hosted members of the Iloilo Bloggers Inc. over the Halloween weekend showcasing the hospitality the year-old hotel is known for. And among the superb experiences we had was just lounging at Brick & Basil savoring all the wood-fired specialties they had for us. What comes to mind when you hear " brick, basil and wood-fire"?   Twice in a span of two weeks, I found myself enjoying the juicy and delectable Texas Pork Ribs from Mojave Grill and Steakhouse at The Avenue. I enjoyed the gastronomic experience the first and can’t wait to have another one.   But my actual first happened years ago during the 2010 Philippine Blog Awards hosted by The Venue wherein it was part of the sumptuous menu prepared for us.
