Squid flakes or papered squid is among my favorite orders at Peppy Thai Deli and Nam Prik Thai Kitchen. It's among the best sellers of the Thai resto that they even sell packs of it. But it costs around 300 pesos per pack of four. Looking for such item at the grocery yielded a better packaged one but already baked and ready to eat.
Until I chanced upon this pack at Iloilo Supermart at The Atrium. Looks the same at Peppy Thai but priced way cheaper at only 150 pesos a pack. A big bargain indeed that I helped myself with more than a pack. The instructions says to fry the squid in very hot oil for 3-4 seconds and allow it to cool for around 3 minutes before serving. Now let's heat things up ....
