“Amazing Thailand” enthralls guests with mouthwatering Thai cuisine as every dish is accented with the distinct spicy tang that’s characteristically Thai in a setting that is both comforting and elegant.
Roll your sleeves up for Tom Yum Kai. This Hot and Sour Chicken Soup proves to be a perfect way to whet your appetite. Sour at first, then you’ll feel the tinge of spice creep in, that in order to hold it back, you’ll just have to have keep on going.
Begin your appetizer food trip with the hard-to-resist Man Plaa. These Fish Croquettes are soft and meaty, with thick servings are full of flavour that one can savour the goodness even without the chili sauce dip. Make room for Rhoom (Crunchy Pork in Egg Nest). They are not only visually appealing but give another dimension to the palate – a crunch that melts in your mouth!
The Porpiatod or Thai Style Spring Roll is a medley of noodles, vegetables, pork, shrimps and other spices folded in a transparent wrap. It’s a burst of contrasting flavours and complementing textures made more appetizing by the spicy vinegar dip.
Salads are staples in all the buffets at Days Hotel Iloilo and for this Thai selection, you can opt to mix your own from an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables (all grown organically) that make up the salad bar or savour Thai specialty salads.
Try the Spicy Mung Bean Noodles Salad (Yum Wun Sen). A cold mix of seafood (prawns, squid and crabsticks) plus assorted vegetables (chilies, shallots, fungus, tomatoes, etc) mixed with mung bean noodles all in a fish sauce and lime juice dressing.
The Spicy Fluffy Fish Salad known as Yum Pla meanwhile, is a mix of crispy fried fish with chilies, shallots and green mango strips sprinkled with nuts on a bed of lettuce dressed in fish sauce, lime juice and sugar.
With more than 20 ingredients to choose from the Thai noodle station presents a challenge to first timers. Which noodles to use, which meat and vegetables to choose and which spice goes well in the mix? But if in doubt just tell the food server to make a special order of this Thai specialty.
That means pork asado, chicken strips, squid balls, hardboiled egg, squid, mushroom, chives, cilantro, chilies, garlic, chili garlic oil, fish sauce, soy sauce, coriander, etc with noodles of choice (glass noodles or egg noodles) – all in one bowl!

The most eye-catching that time and as always, are the dessert cups on a tiered display. A delectable sight with even more delectable names like Jamaican Cherry Mousse, Strawberry Mousse, Green Tea and Cream mousse, Blueberry Jelly and Leche Flan, proving the cliché “looks good tastes even better”.
Also on display was the Corn Gelatine with Anglaise Crème Sauce. A mix of corn in a subtle gelatine base, full of flavour and yet not too sweet. There was also a Creamy Fruit and Jelly Salad plus Banana Pudding on top of delectable cakes, cookies and fresh fruits.
