After our dinner at Uncle Tom's (and after some rounds at Smallville), we decided to "sweeten" our night a little as we went to Bluejay Coffee and Deli along Gen. Luna street. I always love to "eat" a Bluejay for they have a nice range of cakes and sandwiches but I haven't tried other food items yet.
So we got these four desserts based on how they looked like for actually it was nephew who did the pointing at their display.
He ordered the one which caught his attention first - Molten Lava. But it didn't look like this on their display. Just cherry on top of chocolate but he was surprised that ice cream was added when it was served. Nevertheless he loves ice cream so it was a double treat that instead of sharing he sort of got "personal" with it - lol. Anyway it was actually good, the chocolate wasn't as "mind boggling" as that of the Chocolate Midnight.
Chocolate Midnight is their version of "death by chocolate" since everything is chocolate. Chocolate cake with chocolate filling then smothered with chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate garnishings.
Their Choco banana cream pie or something was a breath of fresh air after that chocolate madness above. Fresh banana slices between chocolate crust and cream top, a good combination for those wanting a lighter dessert paired with coffee.
Lastly, the carrot cake was my pick among the four. Light and just an easy eat especially during that time of us being full from our dinner and with these other desserts. Good partner with coffee or even if eaten on it's own.
Everything was well appreciated as proven by these almost empty plates. Only the "chocolate wrap" of the Choco Midnight was left for it was too much that night. Another Bluejay food trip worth blogging.
