Last March, tourism in Iloilo City went digital as InnoPub and Smart Communications launched the
Iloilo Digital Tourism: The QR Code Project at the Iloilo City Hall Penthouse. The project which will position Iloilo at the forefront of digital tourism involves placing of QR Code markers on places of interests and attactions all over Iloilo City. Guests and tourist can then use their mobile devices to scan these codes and a barrage of information about the place will be available at their fingertips.
The
launching was attended by DOT Regional Director Atty. Helen Catalbas, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog, Iloilo City Tourism officer Ben Jimena and special guests from the government, academe, heritage advocates, media and tourism advocates.
