This used to be a famous dim sum house years ago but sadly they've closed their restaurant which I can remember to be in a building in front of Museo Iloilo. But they never stopped their business. They had a stall at SM City and sold their famous dim sum but seems they still haven't found the right niche and they again closed.
Until recently I was in my not so usual route when I saw their signage along Commission Civil Street in Jaro. I thought it was an old signage but it turned out to be that Yok Pek survives. And only a few days ago, I also found out that a certain cafe at Mary mart mall serves their dim sum so I never passed the chance.
It was only sio pao and sio mai that were available that time so I can’t ask for more. I was really surprised that the sio mai cost PhP35 per 3 pieces while sio pao only PhP20.The sio mai was a bit salty and way too rubbery that it did not taste good.
The sio pao on the other was a revelation! It was really good. It may not look appetizing on the photo since I just sliced it using a fork but I can’t help but raved and craved for it. Definitely it'll be worth another visit though maybe just a take order next time.
