The "international cuisine" buffet at Emilion proved to be an enjoyable lunch even though we didn't fully appreciated what they served. In my part, it was the thought of blogging and sharing that mattered more than my appetite that time.
Most of the time, I only get small servings when at a buffet or during a fiesta for me to have space to taste most of what's on the table. My first plate already included appetizers and main course. Crispy kangkong, Japanese faves and an assortment of meat dishes - lechon kawali, chicken pringles, sort of roast beef and another saucy beef dish.
My second plate almost mirrored my first since there wasn't much variety in the buffet and I even got fried rice and spaghetti.
Desserts came on my 3rd plate with leche flan, white forest cake, chocolate cake and buko pandan gelatin. A usual, I enjoyed the leche flan that I got a big slice that time.
This isn't actually just buko pandan but buko-pandan-lychee. The cherry on top is just well uh ... last minute "inspiration" - lol.
Making your own halo halo is quite challenging but I can say I lived up to the challenge by making an almost photogenic halo halo at my first and only try. I just layered contrasting ingredients (by the colours of course) that almost filled up the glass. Good thing there was space left for the ice and topped it of with ube, leche flan and pinipig. I had more fun making it than actually finishing the whole glass - lol.
