Isla Tiniguiban off the coast of Guimaras is also known as Pulang Pasayan island for it is the home of live red shrimps. It's one of the highlights of any trip to the island Guimaras. But you'll only catch these shrimps when it's high tide for mostly they're hidden beneath the rocks in the lagoon when the water level's low.
But don't fret for the island has more to offer aside from these curious little creatures. The main beach of the island is a combination of sand, rocks and corals that offers plenty of activities and photo ops for the visitors. There's even a rocky island nearby for the more adventurous.
The island is a haven that one usually forgets it is a private island whose owners do come and visit it once in a while. True to it's other name (being Pulang Pasayan island) their rest house is is visible from afar as it shines in bright red colors.Numerous coves that makes good private beaches can be found throughout the island. Still in it's pristine state, one can fully enjoy the sea and the sand the way nature intended it to be. These can be accessed directly by the sea or by climbing a few steps from the main beach.
Accessing the small beaches by climbing the hillside gives visitors a very scenic view of the main island of Guimaras. It's a photographer's paradise for every direction presents a good picturesque view of the island and beyond.
Though we waited for around two hours for the shimrps to come out, we waited not in vain for even the things or scenes we take for granted makes a good and lasting impression that will be surely etched in our memories. An island hopping adventure that is surely worth another trip back!
