Off the main island of Guimaras is an islet known as Isla Tiniguiban. This small island is privately owned but welcomes visitors who are drawn to it's bizaare attraction - the pulang pasayan.
Pulang pasayan literally translates to red shrimps. Nothing extraordinary with red shrimps for we always see them in restaurants or even at home on the dinner table. But what makes them an attraction is that these red shrimps are alive and haven't felt the heat (that makes regular shrimps orange).

At lowtide this basin is almost dry and these shrimps hide in rocks lining up the basin. So be sure to consult the calendar for the tides when you plan to visit the island. But don't fret nor regret if you came to the island on a low tide (while the shrimps are nowhere to be found) for the island itself has more attractions aside from these so called enchanted shrimps.
The island itself has lots to offer; from its coral laden beach ......
